“Music of Spheres. Do it yourself”

Galerie Artists Unlimited, Bielefeld, 2000

„Music of Spheres” joins J.Kepler’s elaboration of Harmonia Mundi , with the melody revealed in  the artist’s heartbeat while being stretched by computer. This „microscopic” or “hidden” melody is hearable in speakers joined by electric wire which length corresponds with distances in the solar system.

The „DO IT YOURSELF“  box  provided with sound-proof sponge, contains  rythmic unit (sound of cardiograph) and set  of music scores, based on notes written by Johannes Kepler, used here as matrixs for individual performers.

This set will allow you to create your own composition which notation, due to the light-sensitiveness of material will be changing with time, „living“ as the sound to which it refers,

Instruction:
1. Take a sheet of  photographic paper out of the black bag
2. Place it , glossy side up, underneath a chosen note
3. Expose to the light ( the time of exposure depends of light conditions)
4. Put the acquired record to the envelope
5. Take care of it and keep away from the light
